What Will this Year Look Like
This year’s whitetail season is shaping up to be one of the best yet. Thanks to favorable weather conditions earlier this year, we’ve seen excellent antler development and herd health. The bucks are looking strong, thick-necked, and heavy-horned, exactly what you want to see when you step into the blind.
With demand for quality Texas whitetail hunts on the rise, our dates are filling faster than ever. Clients are looking for reliable, high-success-rate hunts, and that’s exactly what we offer at Circle M. If you’re reading this and haven’t secured your dates yet, this is your sign to give us a call.
Meet the Beasts: Whitetail of Texas
Texas is famous for its whitetail population, and here in South Texas, we raise some of the finest specimens you’ll ever see. Our bucks are known for their mass, tine length, and wide spreads. Whether you’re after a management buck or a high-scoring trophy, the genetics here at Circle M consistently produce incredible animals.
We carefully manage our herd, monitor feeding programs, and maintain a healthy buck-to-doe ratio to keep our population thriving year after year. This isn’t just a hunt, it’s a chance to pursue an elite whitetail in a setting that’s as natural as it is well-managed.
Preparing for the Hunt
At Circle M, we believe preparation is key to a successful hunt. That doesn’t mean you need to overpack or stress, we make it easy on you. Our all-inclusive packages include lodging, meals, guide services, and transportation on the ranch. But there are still a few things to keep in mind before you arrive:
- Gear: Bring your muzzleloader, rifle or bow of choice, quality optics, and comfortable camo suited for South Texas weather.
- Clothing: Mornings can be cool, but the afternoons heat up. We recommend clients bring layers for all temperatures.
- Sighting in: Make sure your weapon is dialed in before you arrive. Your guide can help you verify accuracy at our shooting range to fine-tune your aim before heading out.
- Mindset: Be patient, stay alert, and trust your guide. They know these bucks and will put you in the right spot.
We’ll take care of the rest. From tracking to field dressing, we’ve got you covered.
Essential Knowledge for a Texas Whitetail Hunt
Every state has its quirks, and Texas is no different. If you’re hunting whitetail in Texas for the first time, here’s what you should know:
- Season Dates: Archery typically begins in early October and runs through early November, with rifle season starting in early November and running through mid-January. Muzzleloader opens for a couple weeks in January.
- Licensing: Texas law always requires hunters to have a valid TX hunting license and hunter’s education or equivalent with them at all times in the field.
- Hunting Style: Our hunting territory features three different blind options which include box blinds, tree stands and ground blinds to accommodate to newcomers and experienced clients.
- Regulations: We’re strict about following Texas Parks & Wildlife guidelines, and we help make sure you are too.
At Circle M, we simplify the experience while still educating hunters about the land, the laws, and the legacy of whitetail hunting in Texas.
The Circle M Hunt: Tactics and Strategies
We’ve spent decades perfecting our approach to whitetail hunting, and it shows. Every hunter at Circle M is paired with an experienced guide who knows our property and our deer patterns inside and out.
Depending on your goals, we may set you up in a box blind overlooking a feeder, position you for spot-and-stalk, or use rattling tactics during the rut. Our guides will help you read the wind, analyze tracks, and make smart decisions based on buck activity and daylight movement.
This isn’t just about sitting in a stand, it’s about using every tool and bit of knowledge we have to get you on the buck of a lifetime.
